A friend of mine recommended this place I've never been to it before they have an all you can eat brunch buffet on Sundays and the rest of the week it's regular menu service. They had really good breakfast and lunch mixed Seafood meat dishes. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was laid back and the food was good I definitely recommend the Sunday buffet
I was recently in Boston for the Seafood Convention. Luckily my Airbnb was just around the corner from this family owned gem of a restaurant. The staff was absolutely amazing so much so that I went there everyday for a week. I called it "home base". I live in San Francisco and the next time I am back in Boston I will make Mount Vernon my first stop. If you like friendly staff, great drinks and Popovers (if you're lucky enough to get them) then you need to stop in. TRUST ME....THIS IS THE SPOT!!
I have been here 20years ago. It is always brings me the best food and services. People love their twin lobsters. However, I highly suggested to try some others. Those are also great!
We ate here our first night in the New England states and our last night. We tried the clam chowder at 3 other restaurants and decided Mt. Vernon's was the best! The pop overs that were served here were an extra bonus as well! Very unique and tasty! They were delicious with the clam chowder. We also tried their lobster which was on special the night we went. They, too, were delicious!
One of the last true old school New England places left. Can always count on fresh chowder, lobster specials, prime rib, baked haddock, roast beef dinner, etc. Staff is one of a kind. ❤️
First of all, our server Cathy was an Angel. She suggested the meals and we tried everything she suggested. The food was exceptional! Some of the best roast beef, and reuben sandwiches we've ever had! The seafood was fresh as can be and we will be returning.
I absolutely love this place! I’ve been coming here a decade, or two! They have great deals! It’s always where I recommend for lobster or seafood! Delicious and affordable! The staff is fantastic and the clientele can be very entertaining. The brunch is an amazing deal!! All you can eat with all the variety you can imagine. Elaine, Kathy, Jan and Ellen are the sweetest group of women and they’ll make you feel completely at home (but with better food!)
Literally the best place you'll go, quite possibly in all of Boston. The staff (Penny and Carla) are amazing, the food is extremely budget friendly, the portions are large, and the quality is top-notch. Go here; missing out on this place would be an unforgivable mistake.
Our experience at Mountain Vernon was fabulous! The food was absolutely exceptional, the quality of the ingredients, the taste and the preparation made our diner an absolute blast. The attention was also fantastic, they were very kind to advise on plates and answering all our questions. I strongly recommend visiting this gem if you are nearby. We’ll be back!
I ordered the lobsters, oysters, and New England clam chowder for lunch during a weekday. Everything was delicious and completely satisfying. The price of the seafood here is surprisingly budget friendly. I wish to come again and order something else like the crab cake.
